Chief Financial Officer
The role of the CFO is to manage and improve systems for receipt, use, and disbursement of capital and to manage AR, and AP. CFO also has direct contact with JPMC for all banking, purchasing cards, and debt needs. Works with external auditors for tax and audit work, ADP for Payroll, Fidelity and Ameriprise for 401k Plan, DeHayes for insurance and medical plans, Unified for medical issues, and the City of Fort Wayne and State of Indiana for abatements and grants.

The CFO will perform the following functions and have the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and support senior managers, project leaders and event leaders in financial analysis and decision making
  • Supervise the Accounting Manager
  • Ensure personnel are trained and able to perform daily job functions
  • Ensure personnel are properly cross-trained to backup various job functions
  • Assist Accounting Manager with payroll
  • Ensure quarterly and annual payroll tax reporting is completed timely and accurately
  • Maintaining the General Ledger
  • Issuing monthly financial statements and all internal financial management reports
  • Generate financial trends and variance analyses
  • Generate Income Statement, Cash Flow, Capital, and Bank Covenant projections
  • Calculate the monthly medical accrual
  • Compute long and short-term financing and cash needs
  • A trustee for Pyromation’s 401K and Profit Sharing Plans
  • Assist with 401(k) and Profit Sharing evaluation, enhancements, and calculations
  • Assist with Group Medical, Property, Casualty, Workers Compensation and related insurance evaluations
  • Prepare annual budget, develop, issue and monitor budgeted financial statements
  • Assist with fixed asset accounting, identification and depreciation schedules
  • Provide financial evaluation of capital spending projects
  • Prepare, compute, and communicate annual bonuses
  • Compute and distribute quarterly and annual quote metrics for the configurator and sales quote template
  • Assist in negotiations with UPS and FedEx freight rates, led by the Logistics Coordinator
  • Compute annual Research & Development Tax Credit
  • Work closely with the bank on all debt needs, to manage the Line of Credit, and to monitor all Covenants
  • Work directly with Fidelity and Ameriprise to monitor, manage and improve 401k Plan
  • Work directly with external accountants to schedule and perform all audits and tax preparations
  • Work with the City of Fort Wayne and State of Indiana for all available tax abatements and grants
  • Work on internal and external cost savings initiatives
  • Prepare multiple surveys/questionnaires for MCAA, Indiana Manufacturers, Federal Government, Indiana Department of Labor and Department of Workforce Development
  • Monitor scrap platinum
  • Work with First Person, Inc. annually to generate the Group Medical, Vision, Dental, STD, LTD and Life for the preparation of 5500 filing
  • Review and approve weekly AP and check run
  • Ability to effectively manage to consistently meet goals and deadlines

Knowledge/Skills

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Possess five years of experience as a CPA serving manufacturing clients, in-house CPA for a manufacturing company, or a Controller/Accounting Manager for a manufacturing company
  • Update job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations

Pay commensurate with experience/knowledge. The Chief Financial Officer reports to the President.



Manufacturing Work Cell Trainer
Pyromation, Inc. is an innovative temperature sensor manufacturer that is utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives and we are growing. Currently we are seeking a Manufacturing Training Coordinator for our fun and family oriented environment. Together we have developed an atmosphere and culture where Team Members enjoy coming to work each day.

The role of the Training Coordinator is to facilitate training and development of Pyromation team members. The function of the Training Coordinator is to help ensure customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and support the company's training needs. The Training Coordinator reports to the Human Resource/Safety Director.

Functions & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for training team members utilizing job instruction, lean tools, safety documents and quality information.
  • Provide support by training team members in catalog and application/theory training.
  • Perform documentation training.
  • Lead training in teambuilding, team dynamics, job instruction, safety, etc.
  • Work closely with members of management throughout the company. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including strong people skills and developmental background.
  • Provide support by training team members in catalog and application/theory training.
  • Possess computer skills.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalence, college degree or completed classes in a related field a plus.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Training/developmental skills. Lean manufacturing experience a plus.

1st Shift Value Stream Operator - Light Assembly
Pyromation, Inc. is an innovative temperature sensor manufacturer that is utilizing Lean Manufacturing initiatives and we are growing. Currently we are seeking Value Stream Operators. The Value Stream Operator assembles parts and raw materials to form complete units or sub assemblies at their assigned workstation(s), while following standard work and supporting lean initiatives.

The Value Stream Operator will perform the following functions and have the following responsibilities:

  • Utilize hand tools, light power tools and other special equipment to perform assigned assembly operations.
  • Monitors the quality of all items produced in the area.
  • Performs basic cleaning and preventive maintenance checks of equipment as required or assigned.
  • Maintains a clean, safe and organized work area.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Skill Requirements:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. desired, but not required.
  • Manufacturing assembly experience desired. Lean manufacturing experience a plus.

The successful new team member is to have the skills and ability to be action oriented with effective problem solving skills, possess good communication/interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a team environment. The Value Stream Operator will participate in Lean continuous improvement activities; and possess the willingness to continually learn and develop job related skills, while assisting others to do the same.
