Logistics Coordinator
Currently we are seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator who has a background in planning shipment activities, implementing procedures, and developing relationships with carriers, customers, vendors and management to effectively support effective processes. The Logistics Coordinator works in conjunction with Supply Chain, Delivery Value Stream, Sales, Accounting, team members and other members of management as needed. This position reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager and serves as a liaison with other areas of the company. Responsible for supporting and upholding policies and procedures to promote an environment of lean efficiency, safety, continuous improvement and engaged team members, while supporting strategic goals.

The Logistics Coordinator will perform the following functions and have the following responsibilities:

Logistics:

  • Lead UPS, FedEx, and LTL contract negotiations.
  • Assist Sales with packaging questions and freight estimates for domestic and export shipments, related questions for quoting.
  • Assist shipping department to determine best methods to ship large, fragile, high dollar orders, new products, etc. and evaluate best shipping option, for example UPS vs. truck shipments. Order crates.
  • Arrangement for same day deliveries. Arrange for guaranteed deliveries for LTL.
  • Coordinate export shipments, contact carriers, work with accounting/customer service.
  • Prepare export documents, certificate of origin, shippers export declaration, ITN numbers, chamber of commerce sign and stamp, etc.
  • Assist Supply Chain with domestic and import shipments.
  • Assist shipping with completing bill of lading paperwork.
  • Coordinate delivery and stocking program for corrugated materials, shipping peanuts, foam and various shipping mediums and evaluate alternative packaging methods.
  • Assist in insurance pricing for shipments.
  • Lead the designing and building of the interior of crates to support products.
  • Serve as the point of contact when there are issues with the carriers and communicate this information to pertinent parties.
  • File claims with freight carriers on lost or damaged shipments and settle claims.
  • Recommend and implement ideas on ways to continuously improve. Track reoccurring issues and advise remediation.
  • Accountable for the timely resolution of carrier issues or packaging issues.
  • Conduct price negotiation for packaging supplies.
  • Obtain data to assist in analysis on performance trends.
  • Assist in managing issues with missed pickups, late pickups and other carrier problems.
  • Communicate spikes or abnormal situations that could negatively impact profitability.
  • Lead or participate in lean manufacturing rapid improvement events or projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skill Requirements:

  • Possess Logistics knowledge and technical skills and experience.
  • Have in-depth understanding of carriers, shipping methods, shipping terms, ISTA standards, Incoterms, insurance processes for shipments, import/export processes, HT and HTS codes, packaging materials, class and item number for LTL shipments, etc. and display creativity, and be willing to offer ideas to continually improve.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer, application of office software packages including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Microsoft Outlook. Be capable of utilizing Doc Link and Epicor.
  • Possess time management and organizational skills; plan and prioritize to consistently meet or exceed goals and deadlines. Be able to work successfully under moderate amounts of pressure.
  • Be action oriented, customer focused, and display quality decision making abilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related major desired. 3+ years in transportation logistics, carrier utilization, freight planning, insurance claims processing, and an understanding of manufacturing and shipping processes desired. Pay commensurate with experience, background and degree. This position is eligible for opportunity of annual bonus.



1st Shift Manufacturing Work Cell Trainer
Pyromation, Inc. is an innovative temperature sensor manufacturer that is utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives and we are growing. Currently we are seeking a Manufacturing Training Coordinator for our fun and family oriented environment. Together we have developed an atmosphere and culture where Team Members enjoy coming to work each day.

The role of the Training Coordinator is to facilitate training and development of Pyromation team members. The function of the Training Coordinator is to help ensure customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and support the company's training needs. The Training Coordinator reports to the Human Resource/Safety Director.

Functions & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for training team members utilizing job instruction, lean tools, safety documents and quality information.
  • Provide support by training team members in catalog and application/theory training.
  • Perform documentation training.
  • Lead training in teambuilding, team dynamics, job instruction, safety, etc.
  • Work closely with members of management throughout the company. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including strong people skills and developmental background.
  • Provide support by training team members in catalog and application/theory training.
  • Possess computer skills.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalence, college degree or completed classes in a related field a plus.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Training/developmental skills. Lean manufacturing experience a plus.

Pyromation offers an excellent compensation paid on a bi-weekly basis and benefit package. OPPORTUNITY FOR ANNUAL BONUS AS WELL! The pay range for this position is $15.00 to $19.00 per hour.




1st Shift Value Stream Operator - Light Assembly
Pyromation, Inc. is an innovative temperature sensor manufacturer that is utilizing Lean Manufacturing initiatives and we are growing. Currently we are seeking Value Stream Operators. The Value Stream Operator assembles parts and raw materials to form complete units or sub assemblies at their assigned workstation(s), while following standard work and supporting lean initiatives.

The Value Stream Operator will perform the following functions and have the following responsibilities:

  • Utilize hand tools, light power tools and other special equipment to perform assigned assembly operations.
  • Monitors the quality of all items produced in the area.
  • Performs basic cleaning and preventive maintenance checks of equipment as required or assigned.
  • Maintains a clean, safe and organized work area.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Skill Requirements:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. desired, but not required.
  • Manufacturing assembly experience desired. Lean manufacturing experience a plus.

The successful new team member is to have the skills and ability to be action oriented with effective problem solving skills, possess good communication/interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a team environment. The Value Stream Operator will participate in Lean continuous improvement activities; and possess the willingness to continually learn and develop job related skills, while assisting others to do the same. The pay range for this position is $13.00 to $19.00 per hour.


2nd Shift Value Stream Operator - Light Assembly
