  • Material Handling Specialist

    Currently we are seeking a Material Handling Specialist. The role of the Material Handling Specialist is to receive material, issue stock, maintain organized stocking locations, verify stock levels, and use good inventory practices.

    The Material Handling Specialist function has the following responsibilities:

    • Complete milk runs to a set schedule
    • Ensure work flow is maintained by supplying parts and materials and maintaining super markets
    • Report all problems and defects with milk runs to supply chain Materials Management Coordinator
    • Identify and communicate stock outs to Supply Chain Manager
    • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies
    • Determine disposition of 6S items put on milk run shelf

    Order Fulfillment:

    • Fill customer and shop orders
    • Light assembly of parts
    • Accept parts from receiving, verify move tickets, and place parts in appropriate locations
    • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies
    • Maintain organized, clean, properly labeled stocking locations
    • Identify and communicate stock outs to Supply Chain Manager
    • Inspect thermowells and determine correct MTR(S) and find in data base and print

    Receiving:

    • Receive and unpack incoming materials • Verify materials, as well as the quantities and quality
    • Computerized entry of all receipts through Epicor
    • Perform quality checks as directed using prescribed methods
    • NCR non-compliant material
    • Move or expedite material to proper department or storage location
    • Document shipping damages
    • Service customers who walk-in to pick up their orders
    • Load truck shipments for shipping
    • Ensure all received material has proper HMIG label and quarantine material not in compliance

    Cycle Counter:

    • Perform daily cycle count activities in a timely and accurate manner
    • Review discrepancies with Materials Management Coordinator to determine where errors occurred. Analyze discrepancies to determine root cause and help facilitate corrective action
    • Notify and help facilitate solutions when inventory is found to be defective or unusable
    • Maintain all cycle count reports, graphs, and worksheets as required
    • Ensure that each stocking unit is properly labeled and packaged and that location consolidation and system updates are administered
    • Maintain accurate part locations

    Supply Chain Administrative:

    • Follow up on past due kanban purchase orders and make changes to dashboard (due date)
    • Expedite material not past due but required due to demand
    • Read acknowledgements and do following actions if required: Change due date; Change price on P.O.; Change price in Supplier Price List; Notify Supplier Chain Manager; Update lead time.
    • Do mass updates to Supplier Price List when price changes are put in effect
    • Set up new kanban items in Epicor and on the floor
    • Simple look-up and spread sheet work in Excel
    • Make inventory labels
    • Implement approved changes to the kanban system

    Put Away Material:

    • Stock parts in a way conducive to FIFO (first in first out practices)
    • UPS Material received and put away by end of day
    • Truck shipments put away within 24 hours of receipt i.e. pipe, tube, bar, castings etc.
    • Capable of PMI material where required. Other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

    • Be proficient in the application of lean tools
    • Action oriented with effective problem solving skills
    • Good communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
    • Possess the willingness to continually learn and develop job related skills, while guiding others to do the same

  • Machining Supervision

    Currently we are seeking an experienced Machining Supervisor who has a background in machining and team member development, management, implementing policies and procedures to promote a great culture and an environment of lean efficiency, continuous improvement, and support strategic company goals. The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for the development and management activities for their Product Groups in the Manufacturing Value Stream by working in conjunction with the Manufacturing Support Specialist and Value Stream Operators and with the support of Process Analyst, Buyer/Planner, Manufacturing Engineer and Maintenance Technicians. This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Value Stream Leader and serves as a liaison to other areas of the company. Responsible for administering policies and procedures to promote an environment of lean efficiency, safety, continuous improvement and engaged team members, while supporting strategic value stream goals.

    The Machining Supervisor has the following responsibilities:

    • Assist in developing CNC Programming and proper tooling selection.
    • Track tool usage and identify areas for improvement.
    • Work in conjunction with the Manufacturing Engineer to reduce equipment downtime.
    • Review scarp tooling and identify any areas for improvement.
    • Work with tooling suppliers to stay current on new tooling/processes.
    • Ensure all equipment is optimized to achieve customer demand and best product quality.
    • Assist in installation and relocation of equipment.
    • Understand the life expectancy of key assets.
    • Conduct product group equipment startup/shutdown as needed.
    • Meet with Group Leaders at “Pyro Park” to allocate players, if needed.
    • Assure PPE and other OSHA requirements are being followed.
    • Assure work rule and company policy compliance.
    • Respond to Andon light/sound as required.
    • Utilize escalation process as needed.
    • Monitor and audit TPM sheets.
    • Conduct morning Gemba walk with Support Team, communicate with all machining team members, recognize someone; give credit for a job well done, audit posted standard work, heijunka loading, WIP locations and PCB sheets, audit training matrix and ensure team member training is in process and JI breakdowns are being utilized by the coach. Discuss training progress with Learner/Coach.
    • Evaluate and discuss team member engagement with Support Team.
    • Spot check product quality conformance.
    • Follow up on late customer orders with Manufacturing Support Specialist and End-of-Shift Report.
    • Administrative responsibilities as required.
    • Approve overtime and time off with team members. Assure attendance books are utilized for entering in ADP.
    • Attend weekly staff meeting.
    • Support weekly quality meeting.
    • Conduct product group safety audit meeting at safety board.
    • Update L3 policy deployment.

    Team Member Development/Engagement

    • Develop and implement strategic cross training to assure contingency backups in key areas.
    • Lead job instruction breakdown usage and development as needed.
    • Review and evaluate training with assigned coaches.
    • Review and approve the completed skill certification documents and learner score with support staff.
    • Forward completed leaner score card to Human Resources with universal form, mastery form and skill certification form.
    • Update training on PCB.
    • Conduct and follow up team member evaluations (Progress, 4 month, 8 month, yearly review).
    • Serve as a resource on the manufacturing processes in the Value Stream to answer team member questions or strive to obtain the required knowledge, as needed.
    • Assist in creating an atmosphere of trust and engagement.
    • Utilize coaching and mentoring to develop team members on a consistent basis to continually improve.
    • Identify and address disciplinary issues through Job Relation activities and corrective action system as needed.
    • Assist in the retention of team members and work with them to identify and facilitate career development plans.

    Improvement

    • Support quality improvements through root cause identification and permanent solutions.
    • Complete PDCA improvement cycles. Ensure current and target condition is documented and posted on the PCB.
    • Lead toolbox meetings.
    • Support 6S and standard work audit findings as scheduled or as needed.
    • Support 6S monthly auditing and ensure audit findings are being resolved in a timely manner.
    • Support daily idea meetings.
    • Follow up and coach team on idea implementation.
    • Update each team member’s idea count on tracking form.
    • Review oops occurrence locations. Discuss occurrence with team member and suggested improvement.
    • Work with other manufacturing Value Stream support staff and the Manufacturing Value Stream Leader to improve equipment, tooling, layout and production processes.
    • Keep up-to-date on information and technology affecting the Value Stream to increase innovation and ensure compliance, other duties as assigned.

    Have the ability to effectively manage resources to consistently meet goals and deadlines. Be proficient in application of drawing software.     Degree in machining, business administration, engineering or related major desired and lean manufacturing knowledge a plus. 5+ yrs. of machining and managerial experience in a manufacturing/technology-based environment and understanding of the machining and manufacturing processes in the Value Stream. Experience with Mazak CNC lathes (Mazatrol) a plus. Pay commensurate with experience, background and degree. This position is eligible for opportunity of annual bonus.

  • Network Administrator

    Pyromation, Inc. is an innovative temperature sensor manufacturer that is utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives and we are growing. Currently we are seeking an experienced Network Administrator. The role of Network Administrator is troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and installation activities, such as assembling and installing new computer equipment or units of local area networks requiring use of standard interface protocols. The function of the Network Administrator is to implement and maintain systems to ensure continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and the maximization of profits. The Network Administrator will interact with all Value Streams in order to accomplish ongoing successful utilization of Pyromation computer systems. The Network Administrator reports to the IT Manager. Network Administrator will perform the following functions and have the following responsibilities:

    Functions & Responsibilities

    • Monitors the status of the network to ensure that all devices are working properly.
    • Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
    • Evaluates network performance to maintain standards, and correct as necessary.
    • Install, upgrade and configure network printing, directory structures, rights, security, software and files services, including registering users, monitoring internet use, and installing firewalls.
    • Administers e-mail system and phone systems.
    • Receives calls pertaining to network problems or directs user issues and facilitates appropriate resolutions.
    • Administers backup strategy and disaster recovery.
    • Assemble and configure network components and associated services.
    • Sets up and maintains basic network operations and provide assistance as needed.
    • Upgrade network hardware and software components as required.
    • Establish network users, user environments, directories, and security for networks being installed.
    • Install and test necessary software and hardware.

    To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

    • Possess knowledge to provide users with network technical support and perform troubleshooting.
    • Possess knowledge to manage active directory and group policy (MS Server 2012), virtual servers on a failover cluster (MS Hyper-V), a VOIP phone system MS Skype for Business (Lync), virtual desktop infrastructure (MS Hyper-V / VDA), network infrastructure, ex. (switches, wireless access points, and routers) (Cisco IOS / IP4/IP6 understanding).

    The Network Administrator shall possess skills to respond to needs/questions of users in a timely manner, have excellent communication skills and understanding of user environment and needs. Minimum of High School degree or the equivalence of a G.E.D required, college degree desired. Experience in Windows Server 2003 and Windows operating systems. Experience with Microsoft Office products. 1+ year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Calibration Technician

    We are seeking an experienced Calibration Technician who has a background in verifying and documenting the acceptance of raw materials and finished assemblies. The Calibration Technician works in conjunction with team members and members of management as needed. This position reports directly to the Quality Director and serves as a liaison with other areas of the company. Responsible for supporting and upholding policies and procedures to promote an environment of lean efficiency, safety, continuous improvement and engaged team members, while supporting strategic goals.

    Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

    • Calibrate, repair, or perform preventive maintenance on IM&TE in accordance with defined procedures.
    • Report Conditions of nonconformance
    • Perform repairs required to return instruments to conformance.
    • Review and schedule customer orders and efficiently schedule work load.
    • Maintain organized records of the logging and testing of incoming material.
    • Provide certified non-destructive testing support, including but limited to UT, LP, VT, and hydrostatic leak testing.
    • Uphold the highest degree of quality in work performed.
    • Notify the Quality Director of any damaged equipment and/or new equipment needs.
    • Test and maintain all new and in process measuring and test equipment on the ISO 9001 Quality System.
    • Assist with the fabrication/repair of custom test equipment.
    • Assist with deployment of custom test equipment.
    • Assist with validation of test methods.
    • Assist the written calibration procedures for measuring and test equipment on the ISO 9001 Quality System.
    • Establish and maintain written procedures for the Metrology Laboratory.
    • Maintain lab standards and SPC charts.
    • Other duties as assigned.

  • Configuration Specialist

    We are currently seeking an experienced Configuration Specialist who has a background in creating and maintaining product configurations and methods of manufacture in our ERP software. The function of the Configuration Specialist is to help ensure customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and support the company’s needs. The Configuration Specialist will interact with all company Value Streams.

    The Configuration Specialist will perform the following functions and have the following responsibilities:

    • Prepare and modify configurations following specifications and instructions.
    • Test and debug configurations
    • Work with other departments to design and maintain Methods of Manufacture (MOM’s) including Bills of Operation (BOO’s) and Bills of Material (BOM’s).
    • Maintain and make changes to configurations and Methods of Manufacture as needed utilizing our various means of change control including but not limited to Configurator Change Notices (CCN) and Engineering Change Notices (ECN).
    • 3rd level line technical support as needed.
    • Customer contact with internal and external customers.
    • Other duties as assigned by the IT Manager.

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
