Part Time team members assist in assembling parts and raw materials to form complete units or sub assemblies at their assigned workstation(s), while following standard work and supporting lean initiatives. They also may be involved in cleaning or other improvement activities throughout the facility.

Part Time team members will perform the following functions and have the following responsibilities:

  • Utilize hand tools, light power tools and other special equipment to perform assigned assembly operations.
  • Monitors the quality of all items produced in the area.
  • Performs basic cleaning and preventive maintenance checks of equipment as required or assigned.
  • Maintains a clean, safe and organized work area.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Skill Requirements:

  • High School education or the equivalence of a G.E.D. desired, but not required.
  • Manufacturing assembly experience desired, but not required. Lean manufacturing experience a plus.


Light Assembly Trainer
Pyromation, Inc. is an innovative temperature sensor manufacturer that is utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives and we are growing. Currently we are seeking a Manufacturing Training Coordinator for our fun and family oriented environment. Together we have developed an atmosphere and culture where Team Members enjoy coming to work each day.

The role of the Training Coordinator is to facilitate training and development of Pyromation team members. The function of the Training Coordinator is to help ensure customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and support the company's training needs. The Training Coordinator reports to the Human Resource/Safety Director.

Functions & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for training team members utilizing job instruction, lean tools, safety documents and quality information.
  • Provide support by training team members in catalog and application/theory training.
  • Perform documentation training.
  • Lead training in teambuilding, team dynamics, job instruction, safety, etc.
  • Work closely with members of management throughout the company. Other duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including strong people skills and developmental background.
  • Provide support by training team members in catalog and application/theory training.
  • Possess computer skills.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalence, college degree or completed classes in a related field a plus.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Training/developmental skills. Lean manufacturing experience a plus.

Quality Engineer
Currently we are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer who has a background in engineering and managing quality systems. The Quality Engineer is responsible for upholding policies and procedures to promote an environment of lean efficiency, continuous improvement, quality improvements, and to support strategic Value Stream goals. This position reports directly to the /quality Director and serves as a liaison to other areas of the company.

Functions & Responsibilities

  • Develop physical and functional test methods to ensure specifications are met.
  • Write and/or review design verification and validation test plans and reports.
  • Assist in part specification and definition of part key characteristics.
  • Analyze trial products during development or finished goods.
  • Record and analyze the results in order to decide whether to approve or reject specific products.
  • Ability to compare the differences between two parts for possible side effects in manufacturing.
  • Ability to perform “where used” analysis on component part.
  • Ability to understand how a part is used in the process
  • Review part specification to our definition.
  • Define or research secondary operations to original component part (e.g. make parts).
  • Develop process validation requirements and equipment qualifications.
  • Conduct and/or assist testing outlined in test plans (TP), test methods (TM), and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Conduct and /or assist Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
  • Conduct and /or assist Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R).
  • Support the development and compliance of DFMEA and PFMEA
  • Perform process improvement, control and monitoring on manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and implement procedures to provide easy to follow instructions and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Possess a degree in quality management, business or related field preferred.
  • Possess a minimum of three years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Six Sigma green belt or higher preferred.

Degree in Quality Management, Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred. A minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Six Sigma Green Belt preferred. Pay commensurate with experience, background and degree. This position is eligible for opportunity of annual bonus.

The Value Stream Operator will participate in Lean continuous improvement activities; and possess the willingness to continually learn and develop job related skills, while assisting others to do the same. Manufacturing Engineer
Currently we are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer (ME). The ME works within the value stream to support engineering and equipment needs with strong focus on production equipment up-time. The Manufacturing Engineer works in conjunction with the Value Stream Buyer/Planners, Process Analysts, Group Leaders, Team Leaders, Product/Project Engineers and Value Stream Operators. This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Value Stream Leader and serves as a liaison to other areas of the company. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for promoting an environment of lean efficiency, continuous improvement and supporting strategic company goals.

Production Support

  • Support/ensure the maintenance of all equipment tooling, fixtures, hand tools and other tangible objects needed to manufacture products.
  • Ensure standard work is being established, followed and maintained.
  • Assists the Value Stream to support that production of the product is produced in a timely and cost effective manner and that the Value Stream is working to takt time.
  • Assist in developing and implementing formal preventive maintenance systems for all equipment.
  • Identify and procure tools and materials needed to perform all equipment preventive and corrective maintenance needs.
  • Assist in the installation and relocation of equipment.
  • Work with Value Stream functions to ensure that customer requirements are met, including delivery, lead time and quality.
  • Design and troubleshoot production equipment.
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes on an overall cost and efficiency basis.
  • Support 6S/safety/standard work audit activities as needed.

Improvement

  • Ensure continuous improvements take place.
  • Perform corrective actions related to safety, quality and work environment improvements.
  • Initiate recommendations on purchases of new equipment and improvements to plant property.
  • Responsible for upgrades of existing equipment.
  • Lead or support projects as needed

Team Member Development/Engagement

  • Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining training programs.
  • Support training system as required in standard work.
  • Serve as a resource on the manufacturing processes to answer team member questions or strive to obtain the required knowledge as needed.
  • Assist in the hiring process.
  • Assist in creating an atmosphere of trust and engagement.
  • Utilize coaching and mentoring to develop team members on a consistent basis to continually improve. Other duties as assigned.

Degree in engineering, business administration, or related major and 5+ years of engineering experience in the manufacturing industry desired. Managerial experience and understanding of the manufacturing processes in the Value Stream or experience with manufacturing based technology a plus. Six sigma green belt certification is desired. Metrology Technician
Currently we are seeking an experienced Metrology Technician who has a background in verifying and documenting the acceptance of raw materials and finished assemblies. The Metrology Technician works in conjunction with team members and members of management as needed. This position reports directly to the Quality Director and serves as a liaison with other areas of the company. Responsible for supporting and upholding policies and procedures to promote an environment of lean efficiency, safety, continuous improvement and engaged team members, while supporting strategic goals.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Review and schedule customer orders and efficiently schedule work load.
  • Maintain organized records of the logging and testing of incoming material.
  • Work with all departments in testing non-conforming materials.
  • Maintain all lab instrumentation, tooling, and materials within calibration standards.
  • Provide certified non-destructive testing support, including but limited to UT, LP, VT, and hydrostatic leak testing.
  • Uphold the highest degree of quality in work performed.
  • Notify the Quality Director of any damaged equipment and/or new equipment needs.
  • Test and maintain all new and in process measuring and test equipment on the ISO 9001 Quality System.
  • Assist with the fabrication/repair of custom test equipment.
  • Assist with deployment of custom test equipment.
  • Assist with validation of test methods.
  • Assist the written calibration procedures for measuring and test equipment on the ISO 9001 Quality System.
  • Establish and maintain written procedures for the Metrology Laboratory.
  • Maintain lab standards and SPC charts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Skill Requirements:

  • Possess excellent listening, verbal & written communication skills, including strong interpersonal and development.
  • Ability to interact well with all levels of management/team members.
  • Possess technical & application knowledge.
  • Be able to prioritize & multitask to meet deadlines.
  • Be self-motivated & organized.
  • Ability to work equally well with team environment & independent activities.
  • Ability to work under moderate amounts of pressure.
  • Possess good basic math skills.
  • Possess working knowledge of personal computers, application of office software packages, including word processing, e-mail & spreadsheet software.

  • Be able to work with minimal supervision
  • High School education or the equivalence of a GED, metrology, machining or related degree a plus.
  • Lab experience or calibration experience & 2+ years technical knowledge desired.
