Machining Group Leader - 1st Shift
Currently we are seeking an experienced Machining Group Leader for our fun and family oriented environment.

Currently we are seeking an experienced Machining Group Leader who has a background in machining and team member development, management, implementing policies and procedures to promote a great culture and an environment of lean efficiency, continuous improvement, and support strategic company goals. The Machining Group Leader is responsible for the development and management activities for their Product Groups in the Manufacturing Value Stream by working in conjunction with the Manufacturing Support Specialist and Value Stream Operators and with the support of Process Analyst, Buyer/Planner, Manufacturing Engineer and Maintenance Technicians. This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Value Stream Leader and serves as a liaison to other areas of the company. Responsible for administering policies and procedures to promote an environment of lean efficiency, safety, continuous improvement and engaged team members, while supporting strategic value stream goals.

The Machining Group Leader has the following responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing CNC Programming and proper tooling selection.
  • Track tool usage and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work in conjunction with the Manufacturing Engineer to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Review scarp tooling and identify any areas for improvement.
  • Work with tooling suppliers to stay current on new tooling/processes.
  • Ensure all equipment is optimized to achieve customer demand and best product quality.
  • Assist in installation and relocation of equipment.
  • Understand the life expectancy of key assets.
  • Conduct product group equipment startup/shutdown as needed.
  • Meet with Group Leaders at “Pyro Park” to allocate players, if needed.
  • Assure PPE and other OSHA requirements are being followed.
  • Assure work rule and company policy compliance.
  • Respond to Andon light/sound as required.
  • Utilize escalation process as needed.
  • Monitor and audit TPM sheets.
  • Conduct morning Gemba walk with Support Team, communicate with all machining team members, recognize someone; give credit for a job well done, audit posted standard work, heijunka loading, WIP locations and PCB sheets, audit training matrix and ensure team member training is in process and JI breakdowns are being utilized by the coach. Discuss training progress with Learner/Coach.
  • Evaluate and discuss team member engagement with Support Team.
  • Spot check product quality conformance.
  • Follow up on late customer orders with Manufacturing Support Specialist and End-of-Shift Report.
  • Administrative responsibilities as required.
  • Approve overtime and time off with team members. Assure attendance books are utilized for entering in ADP.
  • Attend weekly staff meeting.
  • Support weekly quality meeting.
  • Conduct product group safety audit meeting at safety board.
  • Update L3 policy deployment.

Team Member Development/Engagement

  • Develop and implement strategic cross training to assure contingency backups in key areas.
  • Lead job instruction breakdown usage and development as needed.
  • Review and evaluate training with assigned coaches.
  • Review and approve the completed skill certification documents and learner score with support staff.
  • Forward completed leaner score card to Human Resources with universal form, mastery form and skill certification form.
  • Update training on PCB.
  • Conduct and follow up team member evaluations (Progress, 4 month, 8 month, yearly review).
  • Serve as a resource on the manufacturing processes in the Value Stream to answer team member questions or strive to obtain the required knowledge, as needed.
  • Assist in creating an atmosphere of trust and engagement.
  • Utilize coaching and mentoring to develop team members on a consistent basis to continually improve.
  • Identify and address disciplinary issues through Job Relation activities and corrective action system as needed.
  • Assist in the retention of team members and work with them to identify and facilitate career development plans.

Improvement

  • Support quality improvements through root cause identification and permanent solutions.
  • Complete PDCA improvement cycles. Ensure current and target condition is documented and posted on the PCB.
  • Lead toolbox meetings.
  • Support 6S and standard work audit findings as scheduled or as needed.
  • Support 6S monthly auditing and ensure audit findings are being resolved in a timely manner.
  • Support daily idea meetings.
  • Follow up and coach team on idea implementation.
  • Update each team member’s idea count on tracking form.
  • Review oops occurrence locations. Discuss occurrence with team member and suggested improvement.
  • Work with other manufacturing Value Stream support staff and the Manufacturing Value Stream Leader to improve equipment, tooling, layout and production processes.
  • Keep up-to-date on information and technology affecting the Value Stream to increase innovation and ensure compliance, other duties as assigned.

Have the ability to effectively manage resources to consistently meet goals and deadlines. Be proficient in application of drawing software. Possess the willingness to continually learn and develop job related skills while guiding others to do the same. Be proficient in application of lean tools. Degree in machining, business administration, engineering or related major desired and lean manufacturing knowledge a plus. 5+ yrs. of machining and managerial experience in a manufacturing/technology-based environment and understanding of the machining and manufacturing processes in the Value Stream. Experience with Mazak CNC lathes (Mazatrol) a plus. Pay commensurate with experience, background and degree. This position is eligible for opportunity of annual bonus.



1st shift Senior CNC Programmer
Currently we are seeking a Senior CNC Programmer for our fun and family oriented environment.

The Senior CNC Programmer supports management with projects and machining initiatives and in maintaining the consistency between the output of all CNC Programmers. The Senior CNC Programmer sets up, operates and programs assigned machines to process parts and raw materials to form complete units or sub-assemblies for use by other shops or customers. This position reports directly to the Machining Group Leader. Responsible for promoting an environment of lean efficiency, continuous improvement and support for strategic value stream goals.

The Senior CNC Programmer will perform the following functions and have the following responsibilities:

  • The Senior CNC Programmer will support projects, PDCA’s, tooling trials and assist in problem solving.
  • Support management in activities to improve, standardize and enhance programming capabilities with the CNC Programmers.
  • Support the Machining Group Leader in identifying training needs or gaps for CNC Programmers. Provide insights to the Machining Group Leader to help with review creation for CNC Programmers.
  • Assist the Manufacturing Engineer with information to update programming quality documents. Assist in researching to find improvements, best practices, and changes to programming and production processes. Work with ME’s on improvements to tooling and machining process and work with them on projects as required.
  • Advise machining project leader on best programming resource to assist with specific projects.
  • Oversee auditing of the CNC Programmers output on an ongoing basis.
  • Support in evaluating or identifying potential new capital equipment purchases.
  • Work with maintenance to help reinstate CNC’s that are down.
  • Program, set up and operate assigned machines.
  • Ability to use CAM software to generate CNC code, FeatureCAM preferred, other types acceptable.
  • Utilize hand tools, light power tools and other special equipment to perform assigned machining operations. May receive direction in the form of verbal or written instructions. May refer to technical drawings, catalog information or work instructions to complete assigned work.
  • Support launch of new software as needed.
  • Make minor adjustments to machine setups and tooling.
  • Try alternative tooling and methods of manufacture to improve efficiency and cycle time.
  • Monitor the quality of all items produced in area by accurately using simple measurement instruments to meet product requirements.
  • Monitor the status of tooling, machinery, benches and hardware used in the area and notify the Machining Group Leader of any problems and support in evaluating new tooling needs.
  • Maintain condition of work area in an organized and clean work environment and strive to keep area free of potential hazards.
  • Run CNC equipment as required and work with operators to make sure CNC machines continue to run.
  • Work with CNC Operators to plan for production of orders and focus on keeping the CNC running throughout the day, while doing prove out and other CNC tasks.
  • Communicate with CNC Programmers and be able to help facilitate best practice adoption of processes.
  • Help launch new equipment and work on new product launches. • Attend training as needed and occasionally travel for training.
  • Change tooling and tool blocks as needed.
  • Perform/teach daily TPM to programmers and operators.
  • Follow safety rules and wear personal protective equipment.
  • Perform basic cleaning and preventive maintenance checks of equipment as required or assigned. Demonstrate familiarity with all aspects of the equipment and be able to communicate potential issues to the maintenance staff in a timely manner.
  • Follow work instructions and training guides.
  • Follow procedures for scrap and rework.
  • Perform in process inspection of production.
  • Move parts from operation to operation.
  • Perform necessary documentation as assigned, other duties as assigned.

The successful new team member is to have working knowledge of G-code and possess CAM programming skills, good hand to eye coordination and dexterity, and good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Able to give constructive feedback and coaching to peers and help guide others to do the same. Open to receiving feedback from others. Follow guidelines for team interaction. Able to perform repetitive operations. Must be able to read tape measure and measuring instruments, for example calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc. Must be able to read and understand written instructions including drawings, catalog information, work instructions, tags, etc. Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong basic math calculation skills. Communications skills/ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Minimum 5+ years experience in programming and operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment. High School education or an equivalence of a G.E.D, machining or related degree a plus. CAD/CAM software knowledge. Advanced process and drawing knowledge. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing experience or training a plus. Shipping Manager
Currently we are seeking an experienced Shipping Manager who has a background in planning shipment activities, implementing procedures, and developing relationships with carriers, customers, vendors and management to effectively support effective processes. The Shipping Manager works in conjunction with Supply Chain, Delivery Value Stream, Sales, Accounting, team members and other members of management as needed. This position reports directly to the Quality Director and serves as a liaison with other areas of the company. Responsible for supporting and upholding policies and procedures to promote an environment of lean efficiency, safety, continuous improvement and engaged team members, while supporting strategic goals.

The Shipping Manager will perform the following functions and have the following responsibilities:

Logistics:

  • Lead UPS, FedEx, and LTL contract negotiations.
  • Assist Sales with packaging questions and freight estimates for domestic and export shipments, related questions for quoting.
  • Assist shipping department to determine best methods to ship large, fragile, high dollar orders, new products, etc. and evaluate best shipping option, for example UPS vs. truck shipments. Order crates.
  • Arrangement for same day deliveries. Arrange for guaranteed deliveries for LTL.
  • Coordinate export shipments, contact carriers, work with accounting/customer service.
  • Prepare export documents, certificate of origin, shippers export declaration, ITN numbers, chamber of commerce sign and stamp, etc.
  • Assist Supply Chain with domestic and import shipments.
  • Assist shipping with completing bill of lading paperwork.
  • Coordinate delivery and stocking program for corrugated materials, shipping peanuts, foam and various shipping mediums and evaluate alternative packaging methods.
  • Assist in insurance pricing for shipments.
  • Lead the designing and building of the interior of crates to support products.
  • Serve as the point of contact when there are issues with the carriers and communicate this information to pertinent parties.
  • File claims with freight carriers on lost or damaged shipments and settle claims.
  • Recommend and implement ideas on ways to continuously improve. Track reoccurring issues and advise remediation.
  • Accountable for the timely resolution of carrier issues or packaging issues.
  • Conduct price negotiation for packaging supplies.
  • Obtain data to assist in analysis on performance trends.
  • Assist in managing issues with missed pickups, late pickups and other carrier problems.
  • Communicate spikes or abnormal situations that could negatively impact profitability.
  • Lead or participate in lean manufacturing rapid improvement events or projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skill Requirements:

  • Possess Logistics knowledge and technical skills and experience.
  • Have in-depth understanding of carriers, shipping methods, shipping terms, ISTA standards, Incoterms, insurance processes for shipments, import/export processes, HT and HTS codes, packaging materials, class and item number for LTL shipments, etc. and display creativity, and be willing to offer ideas to continually improve.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in the use of a personal computer, application of office software packages including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Microsoft Outlook. Be capable of utilizing Doc Link and Epicor.
  • Possess time management and organizational skills; plan and prioritize to consistently meet or exceed goals and deadlines. Be able to work successfully under moderate amounts of pressure.
  • Be action oriented, customer focused, and display quality decision making abilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related major desired. 3+ years in transportation logistics, carrier utilization, freight planning, insurance claims processing, and an understanding of manufacturing and shipping processes desired. 2nd Shift CNC Operator
Pyromation, Inc. is an innovative temperature sensor manufacturer that is utilizing Lean Manufacturing initiatives and we are growing. Currently we are seeking experienced CNC Operator. The CNC Operator function processes parts and raw materials on assigned machines to form complete parts or sub-assemblies for use by other shops or customers by setting up, operating and programming assigned machines.

Summary of Job Duties:

  • Assemble heads and operate machinery.
  • Program, set up and operate assigned machines, hand tools, light power tools and other special equipment to perform assigned machining operations; may receive direction in the form of verbal or written instructions and may refer to technical drawings, catalog information or work instructions to complete assigned work.
  • Make minor adjustments to machine setups and tooling.
  • Monitor the quality of all items produced in their area by accurately using measurement instruments to meet product requirements.
  • Monitor the status of tooling, machinery, benches, and hardware used in the area and notify the Manager of any problems.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area free of potential hazards.
  • Perform basic cleaning and preventive maintenance checks of equipment.
  • Rotate to build blocks as needed.

  • Minimum one year experience programming and running CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment desired, but not required.

Network Administrator
Pyromation, Inc. is an innovative temperature sensor manufacturer that is utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives and we are growing. Currently we are seeking an experienced Network Administrator. The role of Network Administrator is troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and installation activities, such as assembling and installing new computer equipment or units of local area networks requiring use of standard interface protocols. The function of the Network Administrator is to implement and maintain systems to ensure continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and the maximization of profits. The Network Administrator will interact with all Value Streams in order to accomplish ongoing successful utilization of Pyromation computer systems. The Network Administrator reports to the IT Manager. Network Administrator will perform the following functions and have the following responsibilities:

Functions & Responsibilities

  • Monitors the status of the network to ensure that all devices are working properly.
  • Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.
  • Evaluates network performance to maintain standards, and correct as necessary.
  • Install, upgrade and configure network printing, directory structures, rights, security, software and files services, including registering users, monitoring internet use, and installing firewalls.
  • Administers e-mail system and phone systems.
  • Receives calls pertaining to network problems or directs user issues and facilitates appropriate resolutions.
  • Administers backup strategy and disaster recovery.
  • Assemble and configure network components and associated services.
  • Sets up and maintains basic network operations and provide assistance as needed.
  • Upgrade network hardware and software components as required.
  • Establish network users, user environments, directories, and security for networks being installed.
  • Install and test necessary software and hardware.

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Possess knowledge to provide users with network technical support and perform troubleshooting.
  • Possess knowledge to manage active directory and group policy (MS Server 2012), virtual servers on a failover cluster (MS Hyper-V), a VOIP phone system MS Skype for Business (Lync), virtual desktop infrastructure (MS Hyper-V / VDA), network infrastructure, ex. (switches, wireless access points, and routers) (Cisco IOS / IP4/IP6 understanding).

The Network Administrator shall possess skills to respond to needs/questions of users in a timely manner, have excellent communication skills and understanding of user environment and needs. Minimum of High School degree or the equivalence of a G.E.D required, college degree desired. Experience in Windows Server 2003 and Windows operating systems. Experience with Microsoft Office products. 1+ year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Calibration Technician
We are seeking an experienced Calibration Technician who has a background in verifying and documenting the acceptance of raw materials and finished assemblies. The Calibration Technician works in conjunction with team members and members of management as needed. This position reports directly to the Quality Director and serves as a liaison with other areas of the company. Responsible for supporting and upholding policies and procedures to promote an environment of lean efficiency, safety, continuous improvement and engaged team members, while supporting strategic goals.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Calibrate, repair, or perform preventive maintenance on IM&TE in accordance with defined procedures.
  • Report Conditions of nonconformance
  • Perform repairs required to return instruments to conformance.
  • Review and schedule customer orders and efficiently schedule work load.
  • Maintain organized records of the logging and testing of incoming material.
  • Provide certified non-destructive testing support, including but limited to UT, LP, VT, and hydrostatic leak testing.
  • Uphold the highest degree of quality in work performed.
  • Notify the Quality Director of any damaged equipment and/or new equipment needs.
  • Test and maintain all new and in process measuring and test equipment on the ISO 9001 Quality System.
  • Assist with the fabrication/repair of custom test equipment.
  • Assist with deployment of custom test equipment.
  • Assist with validation of test methods.
  • Assist the written calibration procedures for measuring and test equipment on the ISO 9001 Quality System.
  • Establish and maintain written procedures for the Metrology Laboratory.
  • Maintain lab standards and SPC charts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

2nd shift Maintenance Technician
Currently we are seeking a 2nd shift Maintenance Technician for our fun and family oriented environment. Together we have developed an atmosphere and culture where Team Members enjoy coming to work each day.

Summary of Job Duties:

  • Assist to ensure the maintenance of all equipment tooling, fixtures, hand tools and other tangible objects.
  • Assist in implementing formal preventative maintenance systems for all Value Stream production equipment.
  • Facilitate minimal equipment downtime and ensure that preventive and corrective maintenance needs are met.
  • Utilize tools and materials needed to perform all Value Stream equipment preventive and corrective maintenance needs.
  • Work in coordination with other Value Stream functions to ensure that customer requirements are met.
  • Perform corrective actions related to safety, quality and work environment improvements.
  • Fabricate equipment, equipment tooling, fixtures, electrical, pneumatic, and other tangible objects.
  • Complete requests for fabrication prioritized to support the Value Stream.
  • Assist in the installation and relocation of equipment.
  • Gemba walk within Value Stream.
  • Attend toolbox meetings to support Value Stream as required.
  • Be able to work any shift required or as needed to support the Value Stream.
  • Provide on-call responsiveness to Value Stream needs.

  • Insure a timely resolution to safety, and idea team action items.
  • Facilitate minimal equipment downtime and insure that preventive and corrective maintenance needs are met.
  • Utilize tools and materials needed to perform fabrication jobs to support the Value Streams.
  • Help to identify equipment improvements to increase productivity and quality while minimizing downtime.
  • Assist in designing and troubleshooting production equipment.
  • Help with upgrades of existing equipment.
  • Help to support lean activities, RI Events, 6/3’s etc.

Minimum Education and Skill Requirements:

  • Maintenance knowledge required.
  • Three years of experience in the manufacturing maintenance processes desired.
  • Technical experience in the Value Stream is beneficial.
  • High School graduate or equivalence of a G.E.D. desired, but not required.
The successful new team member is to have the skills and ability to be action oriented with effective problem solving skills, possess good communication/interpersonal skills and have the ability to work in a team environment. The 2nd shift Maintenance Technician will participate in Lean continuous improvement activities; and possess the willingness to continually learn and develop job related skills. 2nd shift differential pay and opportunity for annual bonus!
